Tidy Cats Direct and Amazon Prime Membership Giveaway!

We are a member of the Tidy Cats Insiders and are being compensated to help spread the word about Tidy Cats cat litter. Catladyland only shares information we think would be of interest to our readers. The opinions are our own.

What's your favorite part of life with cats? Don't say "cleaning the litter box" because you'd be a big fat liar. No one likes the "doody duty." Litter box maintenance is, however, one of the tasks that comes along with cat ownership.

Here's some scoop for you: Tidy Cats has a brand new product called Tidy Cats Direct. Curious? Of course you are. Get this -- it's a disposable, all-in-one, one-time-use litter box that you can easily order online and have shipped to your door.

It's pre-filled with Tidy Cats LightWeight 24/7 Performance clumping litter to provide constant control. TidyLock Protection locks away urine, fecal, and ammonia odors. Each disposable box contains enough litter to last up to one month for one cat with typical use. All you have to do is open, scoop, toss, and replace! easy-peasy.

I was excited to give Tidy Cats Direct a try because anything that makes litter box maintenance easier is, well, worth a try. It arrived looking like a regular cardboard box. I'm not one who's known for following directions, but I wanted to make sure I opened the box properly, so I located the instructions on the box. Super simple. All I had to do was peel, pull back, and fold under. Voila! Litter box!

Cosmo and Phoebe were curious, of course. Any time I do anything with their litter box areas, they have to be all up in my business. I suppose they consider the boxes their "property," and I suppose their right. I'd be curious if they were making changes to my toilet. Little kitty plumbers -- cute!

The cats used the box for a full month and maintenance was a breeze. They took to the new addition just fine, and I continued with my usual scooping schedule. One might think the cardboard would allow for leaking, but no way. There's an anti-leak coating on the box. Science!

Another cool feature is the little lip that runs along the box's edge. It helps keep the litter inside the box, which is key for me because my Phoebe is a champion kicker. Another feature I appreciate is the lack of dust clouds because there's no pouring. That means less sneezing for Phoebe, who's also a championship sneezer.

When the life of the litter box had come to an end, all I had to do was close the flap and toss it. For real. That easy. Since I didn't have to scrub litter boxes, here's what I had time to do:

  • File my nails
  • Make a smoothie (banana blueberry with some flax seeds, in case you're wondering)
  • Blow raspberries on my cat's belly and try not to get my face rabbit-kicked off
  • Dispense cat treats
  • Take a Facebook quiz to discover my celebrity look-alike

Really???

SO ... now comes the part where you get even more excited. Tidy Cats and Catladyland are giving one lucky winner the opportunity to win their own one-year Amazon Prime membership (or a $99 gift card if you already have a membership) and two months' worth of Tidy Cats Direct.

To qualify, enter via the Rafflecopter widget below AND comment on this blog post with what you would do with the time saved from the convenience of Tidy Cats Direct. You have to do BOTH, and there are also additional opportunities. Although Tidy Cats will only ship to U.S. addresses, readers outside the country are welcome to enter and, should they win, can donate their prize to a U.S. shelter or friend.

Good luck!

It's a Tidy Cats Littervention Makeover and Giveaway!

Can the litter box area really be a nice place? I mean it's a practical place -- cats visit to do their "business," and then they leave, hopefully without tracking too much litter along the way. When Tidy Cats® asked if Cosmo would like a Littervention in his bathroom space, I thought, "Why not?" We humans like our bathrooms to look pleasant and offer functionality, so why not give the same opportunity to our kitties? We accepted the Littervention! Spring cleaning is the perfect time for such a thing, after all.

I live in a small loft, and Cosmo's litter box is located in my bedroom. It's a plain little corner of my room ... nothing fancy. I suppose it should be fancier -- he is a tuxedo cat.

Tidy Cats® needed some information so they could send me products that would fit with my decor, space, and needs. I'm glad they asked about my biggest peeve, which is the whole litter-tracking situation. The little mat Cosmo was using wasn't doing its job. Sometimes when I stepped out of my bed, it felt like I'd set foot on a beach. If only, right?

When the box arrived from Tidy Cats®, I was blown away! So many cool objects tucked inside, including toys, scratchers, and all sorts of fun and interesting goodies. I couldn't wait to go to town transforming the area!

They sent us a jug of Tidy Cats® LightWeight 4-in-1 Strength Litter and a new litter box with a pretty wicker basket in which to place it. And let me tell you about the mat! It's covered with deep holes that catch that litter. I know it catches it because I see it sitting inside those soft little craters and not so much on my bedroom floor.

And the Litter Genie. Can I just talk about the Litter Genie for a moment? If you've never used one, you're missing out. No longer do I need to make the daily walk down the hall with my bag o' clumps. Sure, I'll miss the regular chats with the neighbors while holding said bag o' clumps, but the tradeoff is well worth it, my friends.

I personalized Cosmo's corner by hanging an extraordinarily handsome photo of him above his box ... because why not?

The Litter Genie arrived with a handy scoop that's stored on the side of the in-"Genie-us" (pushing it?) contraption. And they sent adorable rubber gloves with cleaning supplies! The cute gloves make me want to clean (probably).

Speaking of cleaning, did you know that some toys can go in the top rack of your dishwasher? Many dishwashers even have handy little baskets to hold small objects. And once they're clean, store them in little baskets or boxes. Soon they'll be scattered again, but they will at least have a home!

Of course Cosmo didn't do a thing to help me with his own Littervention. As usual, he sat on the sidelines and supervised. That's his specialty, you know.

Here's how it looks integrated into my bedroom. Pretty cool, huh? The makeover gives his litter box corner a more fun and attractive look -- plus, the Litter Genie! Cosmo and I are both pleased with the outcome.

Would you like to win your very own Littervention from Tidy Cats®? Well, it's your lucky day, friends! Here's how it all goes down:

One (1) lucky reader will receive a prize package that includes a litter box, toys, litter, a scratching post, toys, and more! The package can only be shipped to U.S. addresses; however, anyone can enter and donate the kit to a U.S. shelter.

To qualify you must complete the mandatory areas in the Rafflecopter widget below (there are opportunities for additional entries!) and comment on this blog post with your biggest litter box peeve.

Best of luck!

Win a Year's Supply of Tidy Cats Litter ... and a Unique Tiny Hat! #TidyCatsNYEHats

New Year's Eve is quickly approaching -- can you believe it's nearly 2016? Where did the year go? Our cats are probably wondering the same thing ... because they slept for most of the year: "Where did the year go? Did I dream the whole thing? By the way, where did my food go? Not dinner time? Wake me when it's time to eat."

Yeah, that's what a lot of cats would say if asked about their memories of 2015, but that doesn't mean they don't like to party. Cats can be total party animals ... after a nice nap, that is.

Cosmo's ready to party in his own Adam Ellis design. He's even wearing his tux.

Many of us humans like to don fun hats, grab festive (yet annoying) noise-makers, and get our groove on at New Year's Eve parties. I admit it -- I've worn New Year's party hats. If you're gonna go all in, go all in.

Why should people be the only ones with cool hats? This year, Tidy Cats is teaming up with tiny-hat designer, Adam Ellis to offer readers an opportunity to win their very own, hand-crafted tiny hat for their party-going kitty.

But wait, there's more! Tidy Cats is offering the same winner a year's supply of Tidy Cats litter -- in the form of 12 full-value coupons. Free cat litter is a legit reason to party!

Here's how the giveaway works:

  • Giveaway runs from now through midnight Central, January 1, 2016.
  • Enter your name and email address in the Rafflecopter widget below.
  • Complete the Twitter portion of the widget if you'd like additional entries.
  • Open to U.S. readers.
  • Giveaway subject to change.

Good luck, and Happy New Year to you and your kitties!

Tidy Cats Litter Selector ... and Giveaway! #TidyInsider

I'll just come right out and say it: the cat litter aisle can be overwhelming. Agree? I thought you might. Friends, let me assure you there's no reason to stress over what goes in your kitty's box. Tidy Cats knows not every type of litter fits every type of cat or human.

My cats care what's in ALL their boxes.

Some enjoy scented litter, while others prefer straight-up options. Instant action or long-term odor control? What do you think? How about the weight of the litter? Do you want to build muscle or are you a lightweight? OK, raise your hand if you love a nice clump! Me, me, me!

Maybe you didn't even know there were so many choices. Perhaps your thinking becomes scattered when considering the selections, so you close your eyes and grab something off the shelf. Some have become accustomed to purchasing the same brand each time the litter runs low. Whatever the case, the Tidy Cats Litter Selector will match you to your ideal type of litter. It's like online dating, but with cat litter.

It's not hard -- promise! Just honestly answer a few simple questions about your home, lifestyle, and general preferences, and let Tidy do the work! I tried the Litter Selector and found my perfect match: Tidy Cats Instant Action. We're meeting at the litter boxes for our date next week. I can hardly wait.

Tidy Cats and Catladyland is giving three (3) lucky readers the opportunity to win five (5) jugs or bags of litter (or one full jug or bag and four full-value coupons)! Isn't that exciting? Here's how you qualify:

  • Click here to try the Tidy Cats Litter Selector.
  • Leave a comment on this post with the type of litter Tidy selected for you.
  • Enter your name and email address in the Rafflecopter widget below.
  • Open to U.S. readers only.
  • Giveaway closes at midnight (Central) on December 19.

Good luck!

Giveaway: Tidy Cats Lightweight Litter Gives You More

We are a member of the Tidy Cats Insiders and are being compensated to help spread the word about innovations and updates about Tidy Cats. Catladyland only shares information we think would be of interest to our readers. The opinions are our own.

Cat litter! That's right -- today on Catladyland we're talking litter, and don't worry, we're not going to get heavy on you. Haha. But seriously, folks -- Tidy Cats Lightweight Litter is light on weight, but doesn't skimp on clumping power or odor absorption. I use this litter in all of my cats' litter boxes, and it's the bomb ... and not the stinky kind of bomb. Sorry!

I'll be here all week ... don't forget to tip your server.

Impressed with the litter, yes. My bad jokes, no.

It's true -- Tidy Cats Lightweight works like a charm in just the right ways, and it's also a dream to carry from the car to the house. I feel like such an athlete as I pull two jugs from my trunk. I'm pretty sure my neighbors are impressed.

The Tidy Cats Innovation Lab has been hard at work making sure their litter is the best value. They conducted a volume test comparing Tidy Cats Lightweight with three different brands of lightweight litter. You know what happened? Well, it turns out Tidy Cats Lightweight gives us at least 40% more litter than the other brands! Pretty exciting, isn't it? We're all looking for the best quality and value when shopping for litter, and Tidy Cats has already done the work for us.

Now it's your turn to give the litter a try. Catladyland and Tidy Cats are giving away five jugs of Tidy Cats Lightweight to five lucky winners (one jug per winner).
  • Winners must be U.S. residents.
  • Enter via the Rafflecopter widget below.
  • Leave a comment letting us know which variety you'd like to try (24/7, Instant Action, or Glade Tough Odor Solutions).

Good luck!

Litter Champ Makes Litter Disposal Easy-Peasy

When my kids were babies back in the mid-90's, I received this new-fangled device called a Diaper Genie. It was a way to dispose of dirty diapers by sealing each one and collecting them in a plastic container. When the container was full, you'd remove the dirty diapers, which then looked like a string of sausages. It was pretty cool, and I used that baby through two kids' worth of diapered bottoms.

I'd totally forgotten about the good ol' Diaper Genie until Litter Champ contacted me and asked if I'd like to review their litter disposal system. I looked at the product and was like, "Diaper Genie, but for kitty clumps!" Of course I wanted to try it. What am I, crazy?

On the Litter Champ's big arrival day, my cats were all over the scene -- especially Phoebe, my number one box-inspector.

After adequately examining the package, she settled onto the pile of packing plastic and watched me assemble the product.

It was easy to assemble and ready to accept deposits within minutes.

Here's what I like about the Litter Champ:

No daily trips to the garbage can. The biodegradable liners seal in odor and store each scoop. You only make one garbage run when the bag is full. With three cats, it took nearly a week to fill one liner..

After the liner is full, you simply use the little cutting tool inside the Champ to sever it, and then tie a knot at the bottom to create a new liner. It feels like a never-ending bag. That's not true, though -- the liners do last a long time, but you can purchase replacements.

There's a little foot pedal, so you don't have to touch the Litter Champ while depositing the clumps. Oh, and a scoop comes with it!

Cat lovers with children: no worries -- there's a child-proof lock to keep little hands out of the inner workings of the product.

Overall, I love the product. The only issue for me is that I have multiple boxes, so I'd probably want one next to each box, otherwise I'd track litter while transporting the scoop from the box to the device.

Phoebe's opinion? She really, really enjoyed the box in which the Litter Champ arrived. Four paws-up from her!

Tailio's Thinking Outside the Box With a New Cat Health Monitor

What if you technology provided you early detection of cat-related health issues? And what if it all came down to a litter box? I'm serious! Tailio is a new product designed to keep track of your cats' behavior and, um, output while visiting the loo, and then sends the info to a connected smartphone. The mobile apps will be available for both Androids and iPhones. Pretty cool, huh? Here's how it works:

Tailio is a flat, WiFi-enabled device that's placed underneath a litter box. Each time a cat uses the box, it tracks data like weight, elimination patterns, and waste. Tailio is so smart that it even differentiates between multiple cats by creating a "pawprint" for each kitty -- an individual profile of physiology and behavior that's unique to each cat.

Tailo's founder and inventor Alex Trainer says, "I know the heartbreak of discovering your beloved cat's illness too late. I knew if I could develop a device that detected signs of disease or distress earlier, that it would help owners to avoid the pain of losing their pets before their time. That's why I created Tailio."

Symptoms like weight loss, increase in urine levels, rapid weight gain or general changes in litter box behavior could indicate illnesses and diseases like cancer, diabetes, kidney failure, urinary obstruction, diarrhea, constipation, hyperthyroid, and congestive heart failure. Tailio is not meant to diagnose, but gives a critical heads-up that your cat's physical health could be at risk. Always consult your veterinarian if you suspect your cat's health needs attention. And here's what you and your vet will love: You can share the data with the clinic by printing or emailing a report using the Tailio website.

The team at Tailio has been busy fundraising for this smart health-monitor, and they've already exceeded their goal of $30,000, but with a stretched goal, they can provide more color options for the device (currently neutral white) as well as new features for the mobile app. Visit their Kickstarter page to learn more about Tailio and back the campaign, which ends on December 12.

It's a Simple Solution Cat Litter Giveaway!

Cat litter: it's a simple fact of life for those of us who share our lives with cats. And there are so many interesting new choices out there -- litter made of corn, walnuts, wheat, and even recycled paper. Ultimately, we choose the one that works best for our particular situation.

My cats recently tried Simple Solution 30-Day Litter, and it's like no other litter I've seen. First of all, it's pink. That's right -- my cats' litter pan looked like one of those pink-sand beaches! I'm sure my cats thought they were on vacation in the Bahamas when they did their business.  It's made from attapulgite clay, which differs from the traditional clay litters -- it's a unique, lightweight material that attaches to, absorbs and traps moisture from both urine and feces.

What I think is cool about this litter is that it lasts 30 days, and completely absorbs the urine! -- the manufacturer says it's 300% more absorbent than other brands, and I believe it.  It took me a little while to get used to not scooping clumps of urine, but it didn't take too much time. Poop was all there was to scoop!

The litter is lightly scented, which doesn't bother me at all; however, I know some people can be sensitive to any scents at all. Unlike regular clay litters, the dust is minimal and I didn't notice much tracking from kitty feet.

I can't even smell my own pee!
My cats seemed to use the new litter quite comfortably -- I didn't notice them using the other boxes any more often than usual. Because the urine is automatically absorbed, scooping was a breeze! I even found I only needed to scoop that particular box once a day, whereas I scooped the others twice.

Here's a little video demonstrating the uniqueness of the 30-Day litter.

Don't forget to like Simple Solution of Facebook, and follow them on Twitter! And you can always locate the dealer closest to you!

Would you like to try Simple Solution 30-Day litter for yourself? Enter below to win one of six boxes! Addresses in the US and Canada qualify. The giveaway ends Monday, July 28. Winner will be contacted by email.
