Cat's Pride Fresh & Light Litter Giveaway!

I don't know anyone who loves scooping the litter box. Who wants to look at clumps of cat poo and pee? Not me; however, scoopin' poop is a fact of life when you share your home with cats. The one choice we do have is the kind of litter we choose. And litter can be heavy -- especially if you buy the bigger jugs or boxes. And then there's the picking it up off the shelf, placing it in the cart, lifting it out of the cart for the cashier to scan, putting it back in the cart, hauling it out to put in your car, then dragging it back out of your car and into your house ... I need to ice my lower back after just typing all of that!

I don't review a ton of products on Catladyland, but, needless to say, when Cat's Pride asked if my cats would try the new Fresh & Light litter, I pounced on the chance! They sent me one jug of the Quick Action Scented Multi-Cat Scoop formula and one jug of the Fragrance-Free Odor-Controlling formula.

Wowzers! The jugs were definitely lighter. And the 12-lb jugs have the same number of uses as the 20-lbs ones do. Crazy. So far, so good. Then I filled a litter box with each one. I noticed the litter pieces were a little smaller than other brands. There didn't seem to be as much dust, which was nice. My daughter has asthma and is the main litter box scooper around here.

The scented litter had little blue pellets in the mix. In general, I'm not a fan of scented litter. This formula's scent wasn't especially strong, but I still preferred the odorless one. I have to say that with both formulas, scooping was kind of dreamy! The little litter pieces fell so easily from the slots in the scooper. And the kitties' "output" seemed to clump really easily.

Overall, I was pleased with the litter, and will probably use it again.
