Friskies Photo Contest and Giveaway!

If you share your life with a cat, you know that sometimes buying expensive toys and accessories is pointless. You show them the fancy wand toy with all the dangly doo-thingies and they're nose-deep in the box in which it arrived.

Friskies knows this and has some fun and easy DIY project ideas for you and your cats! In the latest issue of Purina PURR, they offer tips for spiffing up a simple cardboard box to create a colorful, multi-level pussycat playground! And have you checked out their Pinterest page? FUN! They've pinned step-by-step instructions for creating cool DIY cat toys. I've already decided I'm making this one for my cats:

But why should my cats and I have all the fun? Friskies wants you to try one of the ideas in PURR or on their Pinterest page and send us a photo of your cat playing with the cool new DIY project! We'll randomly select a winner from all submitted photos and that lucky reader will receive coupons for FIVE free cans of Friskies! Catladyland will submit the winning photo to Friskies for a change to be featured in the summer issue of PURR! How cool is that?

And you know you won't be creating alone. As soon as you pull out the markers, tape, scissors and glue, your nosy cats will be all up in your business. At least that's how it is in my house!

It's Not Too Late to Make Your Cat a Fresh Step® Star!

Phoebe Takes the Plunge into Fresh Step® Stardom?

Everyone who reads Catladyland knows that Phoebe has major personality, but is she commercial material?  I think so!  Remember when I posted about the Fresh Step® video contest?  If your video is chosen, your feline could become famous in a Fresh Step® litter commercial! Well, Miss Phoebe is officially a contender.  I think she has a decent chance, although there are tons of super-cute submissions -- check them out on Fresh Step®'s YouTube contest page.

You may recall my post about the cats' new drinking fountain.  When we first assembled and presented it to our kitties, Phoebe was the most intrigued.  The other two cats acted as if an alien had landed, but Phoebe (as usual) was the first one to get her paws in on the action! I caught some seriously cute curious-cat footage!  This is the video I submitted to the Fresh Step® video contest:



Isn't she silly? I just love the kitty cocked-head look...gets me every time!  She is very excited about the video contest and thinks you should check out the official rules and enter as well, although she told me to let you know that your video should be just slightly less cute than hers.  She has asked for that particular disclaimer be added to the official rules.

A Sticky Situation

Recently, Megan from BuildASign generously offered Catladyland the opportunity to create personalized stickers.  How fun!  Not only does the BuildASign site allow users to quickly (and easily) create cool stickers, they also offer options for banners, magnets, signs, license plates...and more!  I had a ton of fun designing my stickers and they arrived super quickly!  Take a look at the finished product:

Could Your Cat Fresh Step® Her Way to Stardom?

Do you know a cat who's funny?  How about one who's smart or sassy?  I've read enough of your blogs to know there are a lot of them out there in the cat blogosphere -- I share a house with three such kitties! Since we pet bloggers are constantly taking photos and videos of our fabulous felines, why not submit them to Fresh Step®  for an opportunity to be featured in their next commercial? I am going to enter and hope that Cosmo and Phoebe will actually allow Saffy to be in the video.  Perhaps this is Saffy's opportunity for the stardom and recognition she finally deserves!
